Insulin Spray Helps Alzheimer’s Patients in Study
The results of a recent study suggest that a daily dose of intranasal insulin could help improve memory skills in people suffering from Alzheimer’s-linked memory problems. It found that people with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease or a pre-Alzheimer’s condition known as amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) who used the insulin spray for four months either improved slightly or remained the same in tests of memory. Further investigation is needed before any definitive conclusions about the effectiveness of this treatment can be drawn, but researchers find these preliminary results encouraging. Discuss
